Prison classic is heading for The Lowry

FORMER Eastenders actor Joe Absolom swaps Albert Square for a prison cell to appear in the stage version of the prison classic The Shawshank Redemption at The Lowry from October 31 to November 5.

Joe said “The Shawshank Redemption is one of my favourite films, an incredibly moving tale of friendship and injustice, and I’m thrilled to be playing the iconic role of Andy Dufresne on stage around the UK.”

The movie starred Hollywood heavyweights Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman and remains one of the best flicks ever made, in my opinion.
