Edith recounts sensational trial at The Lowry

CROWDED Room presents the world premiere of Edith, a play telling the story of Edith Thompson, one of the last women to be hanged in this country, at The Lowry from February 1-4.

Using manuscripts from the trial and dramatic scenes, it recalls how Edith was executed for inciting the murder of her husband after a trial that divided the nation.

This sounds completely captivating and is being staged by Crowded Room to mark the 100th anniversary of Thompson’s death.
