Sleeping Beauty set to enchant audiences at The Lowry
BIRMINGHAM Royal Ballet is to bring its 40th anniversary production of Sir Peter Wright’s The Sleeping Beauty to The Lowry from March 7-9.
Sir Peter said: “I find it hard to believe this tour marks the 40th anniversary of The Sleeping Beauty. This has always been the most opulent of ballets but Philip Prowse’s incredible design created the unique fairytale world.”
He added that the production features more than 30 fairy character tutus alone which allows the dancers to “really inhabit classical ballet’s most famous roles.”
